To ensure optimal performance during processing, Tattler Lids require a slight adjustment from traditional metal lids. It's important to allow these lids to remain slightly loose during processing to enable the jar to release built-up pressure.
A helpful tip: before processing, place the jar on a smooth surface and gently apply your index finger to the lid while tightening the metal band. Continue tightening until the jar begins to spin on the counter indicating the perfect level of tightness for processing.
